About Florida Rednecks
Florida Rednecks is an independent guide to Florida's country and outdoor life. We cover the stuff that doesn't make it into theme park brochures: where the bass are biting, how to boil a proper pot of peanuts, the history of airboats and cow hunters, and how to get a rural homestead ready for hurricane season.
What we cover
- Florida fishing spots, fresh and salt
- Airboats and swamp culture
- Boiled peanuts and Southern food
- Hunting and fishing licenses
- Rural hurricane prep
How we work
- We point to official sources, such as FWC, the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the National Hurricane Center and UF/IFAS Extension, for rules and safety guidance.
- We don't publish license fees, bag limits or season dates that change often. Instead, we tell you where to find the current numbers.
- We don't publish fake reviews or take payment to recommend businesses.
Respect matters
We use "redneck" with affection, for people who love the outdoors, work hard and look out for their neighbors. We write respectfully about Florida's cultures, including the Seminole and Miccosukee nations, Cracker heritage and the many communities that make rural Florida what it is. We also care about the land and water: follow the rules, take only what you need and leave it better than you found it.
